If I had to describe myself in sixteen words, I would say, "I'm a writer, director, videographer, actor and a terrible comedian. But above all, I'm a creator."
Sixteen words exactly.
My name is Cassidy Hilton.
My passion in life is telling stories and bringing my ideas to life--even when they're pointless and bizarre. I'm pursuing a career in film and video production, as well as acting and writing. Oh, and directing. And stand-up comedy. And maybe stunt driver. I'm going for the catch-all job title. ("Lion Tamer" in the works!) All in all, I'm a student of film and video. I love making and telling stories. I really began to take making videos seriously about a year ago when I found out my sister's Canon T2i could shoot quality video, and since then I've been working hard to improve what I can do. I'm completely self-taught, mostly thanks to being endlessly curious. Fortunately, there's a lot out there to educate me, and I use anything I can to learn more--film blogs, independent creators on Twitter, tutorials on YouTube, and so on. When I'm not busy at work or school, I'm still working and learning how to improve my talents in acting, writing, shooting, editing, etc, through anything I can get my hands on.
I'm originally from Sacramento, CA, but right now I'm attending college at BYU-Idaho for a degree in Creative Writing. If you think Idaho sounds like it wouldn't be the ideal place to delve into the film world, you're absolutely right. While the opportunities for real film experience are scarce, I've learned to be self-directed and self-motivated. It can be challenging, but learning through challenges has been the best thing for me.
I love to involve others in my work and collaborate with a crew to create a great story or joke.
I'm working to further my professional portfolio, and I've recently started up a new videography business in the small town where I'm currently living, Rexburg. I'm working to get it off the ground, as well as work my day job, and network with everyone I can all over the nation.
I'm a hungry and energetic idea man, and I'm ready to talk to you! Please send me a line in my "Contact me" tab, and let's talk!
